Beta 0.1.2 release notes


Patch notes for Sinister Santa beta 0.1.2, biggest update yet which addresses some gameplay problems and various UI improvements. This just about clears up all the bugs and other problems from 0.1, paving the way for new content for an 0.2 release. 

Gameplay

  • Greatly strengthened the influence of charge on snowball throw distance
  • Added a damage boost to snowballs based on amount of charge
  • Elves now take 1.5x damage when headshot by a snowball
  • Can now pause the game with ESC or P

UI

  • Added pause menu
  • Various small tweaks to main menu assets
  • Added "New High Score" text to the death screen to alert the player of the obvious
  • Updated the placeholder high score values to better match expected player scores

Bug Fixes

  • Removed testing keybind that caused instant death, apologies if this ended anyone's run early
  • Fixed an issue with camera rotation that prevented the camera from rotating properly upon death to create the effect of falling to the ground
  • Stopped snowmen from awkwardly continuing to charge at the player while the death screen comes up
  • Hopefully fixed various textures appearing absurdly low res for a moment before popping back to their normal resolution (not certain it's 100% fixed though, let me know in the comments below if you still see this happening, thanks!)
